Our children's ministry provides our children with an atmosphere of fun, love and acceptance where they can learn about Jesus and His love.  Every class is staffed with committed servants and parents who are dedicated to the spiritual growth and development of our children. We are committed to a partnership with the family as we seek to assist parents in teaching their children spiritual truths. To that end, effective worship isn't just limited to adults. There are age-appropriate worship experiences that bring the Bible to life in ways that mean something to our children.

Sunday School
Sunday School classes are available by grade for children age 2 through 5th grade at 10:00 a.m.

Jesus' Jems

Jesus' Jems is for 3 years-olds to 5th graders.  They get together during the 11 am worship service on Sundays to learn about Jesus through storytelling, mission projects and praise & worship.

Pre-School
The Kendall United Methodist Church Preschool, Parents' Morning Out, and Lunch Bunch Extended Care provide children a Christian learning experience in a loving environment. The school is licensed by HRS and is well-regarded in the community for its caring, nurturing faculty. Parents' Morning Out consists of Nursery, Toddlers, Young 2's and Young 3's. Day School includes three-year-olds, four-year-olds, Jr. K. Lunch Bunch provides extended care for students and consists of eating lunch and supervised free play.

Summer Programs
During the summer months, the momentum continues for children. Vacation Bible School gives kids 4 years old through fifth grade a week of creative learning that enhances their awareness of their faith while having memorable fun.  Camp Mustard Seed offers a 2-, 3- or 5-week session of summer fun for children age 2 through fifth grade. It also offers the option of Lunch Bunch after-camp care. For more info on Camp Mustard Seed, call the church office 305-667-0343.

Skilled, Loving Nursery

KUMC takes very seriously the caliber of our children's care and caregivers.  There are always at least two unrelated adults over 18 in every room, and all staff caregivers have been background-screened, fingerprinted and trained. CPR-certified staff are always on the premises during any children's event.

Nursery care is provided during all worship hours and most other church activities for newborns through K. Childcare for elementary children is also usually available during non-worship church activities.
